Tenet is the story of an unnamed man known as the Protagonist, and his tragic bromance with a mysterious man named Neil.
Along the way, there's something going on with an arms dealer, his estranged wife who gets roped in to sabotage him, and a whole bunch of time travel stuff. Oh, and possibly a threat that might end the world, and destroy all of space-time in the process.
But who cares about that? This is a homage to ancient Greek tragedies, like Apollo and Hyacinthus, or Achilles and Patroclus. They forge a bond that grows stronger throughout the film, and at the end, like true epic heroes, one of them dies at the end of their journey together.
It's a beautiful film to watch if you enjoy bromance, with slashy undertones.
If you want to watch a film about time travel though, I'd suggest Back to the Future.
An epic bromantic tragedy
