As a Boss Game, Chippy practically pulls you right into the action, with little else in the way. There are many enemies with varying characterization and pixel form designs, and the gameplay is something I almost never feel bored with.
The redux update is a massive improvement overall, with new content such as an Easy difficulty for casual players that would otherwise be turned away from the game, and new tools for Steam Workshop custom campaigns.
That said, the Nightmare difficulty and bonus stages don't exactly have this same quality; I wish the former was fairer and more balanced, and the latter less tedious.
Nonetheless, if you enjoy bullet-hell top-down shooters that make you use more planning than usual, I'm certain that Chippy is a good game for you.
