The title of the series as well as the first few pages of the light novel/first few minutes might scare off some people, which is understandable. But once you get past that (or skip it in later reads/watches), you find a surprisingly charming series with alot of funny moment, heart and an interesting take on the life of a light novel writer.
The characters are all fairly memorable and stand out as individual characters, with Nayuta Kani being a refreshing change of pace with how forward she is about her attraction to Itsuki and the series has an interesting take on why they aren't already a couple compared to the usual Will They Wont They and Moment Killer tropes common to alot of manga, light novels and anime that drag out the subplot to extreme lengths. The characters all have good chemistry and there's plenty of comedic moments and plenty of heart in this series. Definitely worth the read if you can find it, or failing that it's worth it to watch the anime adaption if you like slice of life series.
