Never before have I watched a show that made me laugh so hard that I deeply questioned why almost no kids comedy show outside of Mao Mao or Gumball were made like this. Yoo Hoo and Friends 2012 is a fricking weird show and it's hard to describe. Imagine the legendary Ghost Stories dub and making a family-friendly interpretation of that. Or what if Amazing World of Gumball aired on Nick Jr and was sanitized for that crowd. But really its about 5 horrible corporate executives turned into cuddly animals by Flavor Flav and having to save the environment against their will. While ruthlessly making fun of everything about cutesy animal shows and themselves. If your kid forced you to watch stuff like Peppa Pig or Peg and Corn or talking animal movies this show will be so cathartic. Yeah the voice acting is pretty bad admittedly but with writing this meta and sharp it nearly makes up for it. Yes it is a horrific bastardization of the original series. But judging it as a Gumball-esque comedy it is funnier than nearly every TTG/Total Drama Rama/Ben 10 kids comedy airing in 2021.
In between this and Kaeloo America was robbed of good non-Gumball/We Bare Bears comedies for years.
