I love this story, think it is awesome…and I completely agree with you. The CAN seem like a Mary Suetopia at times.

Not my cup of tea
Despite of my usual enjoyment of tech-uplift stories, I can't help but dislike this one in particular. The CAN is portrayed as so ridiculously perfect they appear almost like a faction of sues. Compare them to the canon Beyond Earth factions, all of whom follow certain ideologies and ethics and thus flawed in some way. Meanwhile CAN doesn't seem to follow any ideology except... I don't know, being perfect? There's no tension or challenge to the story at all as the author seemingly can't write a believable antagonist to save their life. Even the uplift part is few and far in-between, so if that's your main draw I hope you're a patient person.
Overall 4/10. Good premise, but chokes at the execution. At least the prose is good.
