Really liked first 4 episodes

Afterward? Ehhhhh. It's okay, but nothing else.

It's a bit hard to explain what happened but I'll try.

My first reason is that the series peaked too early. Ep 3 has an amazing battle scene, while episode 4 was beyond funny. And NOTHING later compares to those two episodes. The show still has its moments, but they have spread too thin and again, don't reach the same heights.

And 2nd reason... Killa La Kill just doesn't have enough substance for the whole series. Episodes 1-3 introduce the majority of important characters, the only exceptions being Ragyo and Nui (both of which are TERRIBLE characters) and Tsumugu, who's kinda cool for a whole 1 episode before he steps to the sidelines.

During episodes 4-16 there is a lot of filler and it wore me down real quick. Now if you watched the series you know that post 16 things go off-the-rails-crazy... but that just tired me out in an opposite way. In that special way that makes me avoid most of the animes. Everyone screams, reaches a new level of power and things get large or explode so much that I can't care anymore. Everything is so over-the-top it's downright meaningless.

I finished the series, but only because it was so short I decided I might as well. Otherwise, despite good moments here and there, I'm not sure I would even stick around to episode 13.

Yeah totally agree. It had a good thing going, doing battle shounen tropes while being self aware of them, but they played them straight down the line and it killed the series for me. It\'s not entertaining to watch the protagonist get clobbered until the villain is figured out in some way or she gets a motivational powerup to turn the battle around. This is why battle shounen action doesn\'t work.

I fully agree about Nui and Ragyo being terrible characters. They exist just to be the OP villains that every Trigger anime needs to have apparently. Their motivations are nonsensical they just seem to be evil for evil\'s sake. It\'s especially bad because the writers had a good villain with Satsuki and then that ended.
