The story is great and if one take the time and effort of going through the threads and not just the threadmarks, you can find Harry Lefert’s explanations for stuff he does not explain in the story.
In fact, he seems to do a lot of work to fill the plot holes and resolve or explain issues of the original work. Such as Snape’s animosity with canon Harry, why Dumbledore never identified the monster of the chamber, why it’s victim was never questioned, the truth behind the third floor corridor and why Dumbledore did what he did for Harry’s scar in canon.
He makes the characters more alive, such as having Harry reacting to what he did to Quirrel instead of being entirely fine with that happened.
There is also all the feels and hilarity to be found. Sure, some of the other authors go for dark and depressing, and some have issues with stopping to dig their hole, but the main story, and quite a few side ones, is great.
