Superbly written

This is, without a doubt, THE best "Greed gets better" fanfic I've ever read, and I've read quite a few. The author has an amazing knack for writing emotion, the characterization is completely on point, the Xingese Political Intrigue (TM) is realistic and interesting without feeling overly bloated, and there are even a few great action scenes. If you weren't satisfied with the resolution Greed and Ling got in canon, or just want to take a peek at what a happy ending for the two might look like, this is the fic for you—but be prepared to cry buckets.

It should be noted that despite the Greed/Ling tag, and while the relationship between the two is indeed the centerpiece, the fic itself can easily be read as gen. Nothing is explicitly shippy, so if you're not sure about the pairing don't let that turn you away from a great story.
