My thoughts after finishing season one

Nurse Jackie is an unusual show. While it messes around with symbolism and has motives through episodes, it tells it's story in an open and unemotional way, letting character's lives slip through conversation rather than laying it all out for you. It also doesn't judge the cast: all characters are sometimes annoying, hilarious or endearing and we're even allowed to see people that don't look perfect. It's not as much a hospital show as a show about wonderfully messed up people interacting with each other. And it's funny as hell.

I love this show and really recommend it, though it's probably not to everyone's taste. If you like shows like Six Feet Under and Mad Men, odds are you'll enjoy it.
