This is one of the funnest and darkest films I have seen in years. The first five minutes of Wild Tales sets the tone perfectly for the rest of the movie: it's going to be a series of extremely cruel, close to the bone, suspenseful, totally surreal and very funny short stories about people getting their own back on one another.
Each story is wonderfully relatable, with most of the avengers responding to a banal annoyance in a way that is totally over the top. Whether it is a guy tired of getting parking tickets, or a bride having to put up with a piss poor wedding; everyone's favourite though will probably be the tit-for-tat style squabble between two drivers suffering from a tad too much road rage. It plays out with the imagination and principles of a Laurel and Hardy short, but with a real world level of pain and gore.
If you enjoy the Darwin Awards I guarantee you'll love it. It's a real treat and you should watch it as soon as you are able - something which is probably quite difficult purely by virtue of it being Argentinian and thus getting a much narrower release than it deserves.
