Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Immersive Truck Sim

If you try to play this game with an open mind it's not hard to figure out why this game instantly skyrocketed in popularity.

It's simple, it's relaxing, and it's beautiful.

Your only goal is to go from point A to point B, and the closest thing to a challenge in this game is attempting to park your truck which can be skipped at the loss of bonus XP.

And while the included music player is hardly the greatest thing ever, it does its job... perhaps a little too well. Plop in your favorite music (in my case soundtracks from Kino's Journey and Madoka Magica) and you'll immediately immerse yourself in this experience.

The enivroment is stunningly beautiful, but after a while it might start losing its charm.

This game also has an RPG element, which is kind of hit and miss. You can feel some tangible differences with the long distance or chemical licenses upgrades, but I can't say the same for ecodriving or urgent deliveries upgrade.

Truck customization is great. You have all sorts of way to customize your truck, making it feel more unique to you. But they're fairly expensive, so make sure to spend your money wisely.

And the last part I wanna touch is your truck company. You can expand your truck company by recruiting truckers and buying new places of operation. By doing so, you can earn income from your employees. You're not gonna get much at first, but after a while it's going to increase.

Keep in mind you're not going to start the game with your very own truck, so you have to take contracts to buy your very own truck. Which for me took around 15 hours.

Do I recommend it? If you want the journey more than the destination. Yes.

Euro Truck Simulator asks you appreciate the trip more than the destination, and if that's not your jam then you probably won't enjoy this game.

Mundane Made Awesome indeed.
