Weird, weird film. As Above So Below breaks the pattern of found footage horror films (and horror films in general) by counting on a plot and theme which genuinely makes you not know what the hell is happening all the time. In other words, the film creepies you without giving you more than a vague impression of why you should be scared. The alchemic and orphic references are so obscurely played that you need some serious amount of brainpower to understand why the group has entered in a parallel world, why the protagonist suddenly have healing powers, and why is everything happening in first place. This will never be a jewel of the horror genre, but if you are looking for a film who gets you distressed, this might be a first answer.
