This is awesome.

I have played Thrawn's Revenge for a lot, and I have found it to be amazing. The removal of the "space artillery" area effect ships (Broadside and Marauder, respectively) has made fighters utterly terrifying again. If you haven't invested in dedicated anti-fighter weapons, you will die. Hands-down, the best ship in the game would be the TIE Defender, if only because of three nifty features: One, the power to weapons trick. Two, the armaments: lasers, ion cannons, and missiles. Three, shields. This is important, because most Empire snubcraft (Yes, Empire, not Remnant.) have no shields, and this gives the TIE Defender a *lot* of durability. The Supercaps (Viscount, Executor, Eclipse, Sovereign) are utterly terrifying to fight, until you get behind them. As an Empire of the Hand player, you'll absolutely have to do this, as you have, count 'em, zero ships capable of going toe-to-toe with an SSD/Viscount. The K-Wing is the Rebellion's answer to Imperial fighters. It's balanced because it can't hyperspace, unlike TIE Defenders. Infantry have been both buffed and nerfed. Buffed because they are now more numerous. Nerfed because their guns are even less powerful than they were in EaW or FoC. Also, Take Cover was removed except for elite infantry, such as Novatroopers, Raptor Troopers, Plex Soldiers, and Specialists. Artillery manages to suck and be painful at the same time. That row of light vehicles? Dead. That same row of light vehicles, exact same circumstances, except now the AI commands them? Dead artillery. Air units have also been beaten with the nerf bat in a back alley. They will now die to AT-S Ts and Bombing runs. The fact that friendly fire is in full force, except for blasters, for some reason, means that your Speeders are going to die unless you get them out of there five seconds ago. The Rebel Bombardment now disables mechanical units before blowing literally everything up. That bunch of AT-A Ts, AT-A As, SPMA-Ts, and what have you? They are dead and there's nothing you can do to stop them being dead, because the AI got vision. However, even though Not Playing Fair With Resources is in play, Artificial Stupidity is also in full effect. This is probably for the best.
