Great graphics that resemble the show. Even if it's a little bright, everything's cel-shaded well enough. Definitely qualifies for Visual Effects of Awesome.
The new story is a fresh breath for anyone who's bored with following the same story of Z over and over in the previous DBZ games.
3v3 make the battles lively.
CHARACTER CREATION. It's executed very well and deserves it's place as the selling point of the game.
Combos feel and look smooth and there's a nice variety to them.
Special moves are very balanced for the most part.
RPG elements which matter to your custom character's build.
Characters who are left out from the game get special cameos with their clothing available for custom characters (You can even make said missing people!)
3D cutscenes that feels lively in a DBZ game after Burst Limit? U wot m8?
Characters don't act out of character when you interact with them unlike in Ultimate Tenkaichi. Mentors quotes are also a pretty cool touch.
Combat feels smooth in general and controls well.
Cons :
It's too easy to be punished for doing melee combos against some evasive moves.
Combos being too easy to break out of in general.
Character creation isn't the most extensive. It's awesome that we have it, yes, but could be more extensive.
Can't change color of clothing belonging to named per-existing characters.
Random Number God is slapped everywhere needlessly, and you better worship him. Even finding a mentor you want will have you pray to him and doing resets to the title screen often. (I had more trouble finding Cell than the Dragon balls, in fact)
Due to RNG as mentioned above, it takes HOURS to grind for the moves/items you want.
Your ally AIs are controlled by braindead saibamen. Meanwhile the enemies actually can fight and sometimes will even abuse the hell out of their abnormal stamina/ki. You will see your team of SS 4 Gogetas get their ass kicked by the Ginyus in some of the quests.
Some levels are stupidly unfair and not very fun to go through at all.
A majority of the late game bossfights are pretty much backpedaling and ki-spamming.
THE Dragonball game.
Review from an offline player on Xbox360.
Pros :
Cons :
As a game : 6.5/10 As a Dragon ball game : 9/10
