The first time I found this story, I couldn't get past the first chapter. There is very little- if any- difference in the plot of the first chapter and the beginning of the series. After that, the story takes on a life of it's own, ultimately turning out to be a full-fledged AU instead of a mere For Want of a Nail story. The other Codes were interesting, and what this troper liked most was seeing Zero trust his subordinates with his identity- first his inner circle, but eventually the entire world learns who he is via international broadcast. Story-Lelouch makes less mistakes then cannon!Lelouch, but I honestly didn't mind that in light of all the interesting and awesome, yet still believable and reasonable plot twists that occur.
