Dangan Ronpa Zero is a great prequel for the Dangan Ronpa series, although it isn't very well known in the fandom for some reason.
It's very well-written with interesting characters (Matsuda too, even though i don't like him.). Despite the bleak tone, it is very comedic at times, most of said comedy coming from Ryouko's Unreliable Narration and Kamishiro's perverse jabs.
People say DR 0's pacing is horrible and the writing is slow. As far as I know, that's how light novels are written. Whether or not you like DR 0 depends on if you're patient enough to read it (if that was well-worded).
That aside, even though DR 0 strays from the normal 'mutual killing' theme of Dangan Ronpa, It still manages to be chilling with lots of Gorn.
As said in the review's title, I recommend DR 0 to the patient readers in the DR fandom looking for some more dead teenagers to read about.
