A good HiE

Despite the story being told in a limited third-person view centered on Jessica, the Mane Six act in-character and the rest of the equines just as believable. The author does a good job describing body language and actions without it being overly wordy. The language barrier is present throughout the story, slowly getting eroded away. The sense of confusion about what the ponies are saying is believable. The abuse that she went through when imprisoned is another thing that is handled well and realistically. The story will make you care about the characters and bring out emotions.

The only weak point in the story that I found is comma misuse and lack of dashes between needed words. It did not detract from my enjoyment of this story or its sequel.
