Why is the generation xerox trope not YMMV? I can provide links that show that it is indeed something that's been noticed and causing confusion.

The fact that it's not YMMV means that it doesn't belong to YMMV in the first place. Lately, some tropers have shown the dubious habit of applying objective tropes into subjective context and then add it to YMMV. This very day I got to see this type of misuse elsewhere, and it's unfortunate. That's why I have to inform you that GX will once again be removed even if you brought it back commented-out.
