I think it would be a good idea to have overshadowed by controversy be it’s own page, because it seems to me that yandev and the game will always attract controversy whenever there’s a new development (as rare as they are).

Ok, so I've seen some people re-adding memes that were deleted by a mod in a prior edit due to them troping Yandere Dev or drama surrounding him instead of the game itself. I'd advise against adding any of the following memes to this page:

• The game is never leaving alpha.^note Due to YandereDev's insanely slow work speed, feature creep, and an ever increasing amount of Easter Eggs, people have come to the conclusion that the game is never going to be finished without significant outside help, let alone even enter beta despite originally aiming for an April 2019 (it's March 2020 as of this entry) release. Talking about the game at all will result in at least this comment.
• X will happen before the game [/] Osana is released. ^note Mainly jokes and criticism on Youtube comment sections, with "X" being a far off distant thing that won't occur for years, decades or centuries to come. Mentioning things such as the end of the current coronavirus epidemic, the explosion of the sun, the heat death of the Universe before the game or Osana is finished.
• I was in X year of school when this game was started, I'm in Y year of school now and it's still not finished. ^note Another kind of critique where people mention how long the game development time has been. The "X" represents what year of school where they were at when the game began (usually elementary or middle school, sometimes high school) and Y being where they are now (usually high school, sometimes university or college instead). Variations exist where people mention major lifetime events that have occurred between the game's conception and where it's at now, usually contrasting how far they've come in life compared to the slow development of Yandere Simulator.
• a r e y a c o d i n g s o n ?^Explanation A comic about a father running into his son playing ...certain kinds of VR games has turned into a meme to make fun of YandereDev's development process.
• YandereDev Discord Ban speedruns ^Explanation Joke speedruns which try to get banned from the server in the fastest time possible, similar to the Club Penguin ban speedruns.
• The ban system is more optimized than the game. ^Explanation References how you can get banned after a few seconds in the Discord for just posting a specific image, while the game is not as optimized.
• else if else if else if ... ^Explanation People trying to look into Yandere Simulator's code can find a lot of else ifs. Naturally, some programmers poked fun at it.
• Everyone complaining about low framerate is a kid using a◊ cheap laptop they got from their parents.◊^Explanation YandereDev's response to anyone and everyone that is dealing with performance issues in-game as a means to deflect any and all criticism of poor optimization, bad coding that results in the poor performance, even on machines capable of 60 frames a second on max settings on say...... Hitman 2.
• YandereDev's face is used in memes a lot. Notably, posting his face at all in the Discord server gets you banned instantly.
