Considering just changing the justification to be more in-line with the potential mix-up with Piscines.
Am I the only one here who thinks Nakarkos, Zorah Magdaros, and Xeno'jiiva should be mentioned as Anticlimax Bosses?
Someone edited in references to Capcom supposedly outright saying "no, we're not localizing the Switch port of XX"; can someone please provide a reliable source? Given that this is a very controversial topic I would like verification/confirmation on this matter as readers could possibly take those edits as fact.
The part about Woolseyism is false. Japanese versions also call the mosters by their designated names (most of the time on the materials, but they also did that for mission names/descriptions) instead of just stating their name as "xxx subspecies". For example, Ivory Lagiacrus (as raised in the YMMV page) is literally known as "White Lagiacrus" in Japan.
Hide / Show RepliesYou Could Always Edit It Yourself, you know.
I haven't played the japanese versions (and why would I? I don't understand the language at all) so I can't really comment on this, but if there's something wrong with that Woolseyism-paragraph, feel free to change it.
Insect Glaive and Charge Blade as Game Breakers.
Like most weapons added in newer MH games, IG and CB are phenomenally useful even in the hands of inexperienced players. Especially the Glaive with its wide multihit-attacks, Super Armor on almost all attacks (with the triple-up-buff, that is), built-in medium Earplugs (again, thanks to the triple-up-buff) and the pole-vault which makes Glaives the only weapons capable of mounting no matter the terrain.
And like the Switch Axe in MH3, the Charge Blade has the distinction of being a weapon with one of the most fully completed movesets of all time, rivaling Bowguns in their flexibility.
Of course, they're not "perfect" weapons (no weapon in MH is, we all know that this series is built on Nintendo Hardness), and it looks like the Charge Blade will get a rebalance overhaul in MHX (without nerfing it too much), so time will tell if their status as Game Breakers will change in future MH-games — but still, as of now IG and CB are the go-to weapons in MH4U if you want to tear everything apart while looking good doing so.
Anyone disagreeing here? I'm open to discussion. Just wanted to add more insight here to my reasoning of including IG and CB under the Game-Breaker tab, it's kind of a big issue (we all know how heated debates about what does and does not count as game-breaking can become).
Edited by GrobiHello,
I'm... rather surprised by Perelandra's latest additions in Memetic Mutation. Is there a source or something showing that the "Je suis monté" sentence became a meme? Same for the "Pardon..." which sounds more like a mean jab directed at french players that an actual meme (I could write the same entry by replacing it with "Sorry...", it wouldn't make it true or a meme). In short: are those sentence becoming memes factually correct? If no, I think they should be removed.
Edited by NonoRobot Hide / Show RepliesI'll be damned. The "Je suis monté" does seem to have reached a memetic status (albeit quite small from what I can see - also, may be related to "Je suis Charlie"). There is definitly less evidence regarding "Pardon..." though.

In Woolseyism, the part with Leviathans, there's an aside regarding Wyverns having two legs and a pair of wings, but that only applies to True/Flying Wyverns and select Bird Wyverns - Brutes, Piscines and Fanged Wyverns are either two-legged with hands/fins, or four-legged. Normally I'd just delete that part, but it does leave the specific Woolseyism lacking in justification; do I leave it there with an addendum or just delete it?
