Hmm, I spot a Nice Job Breaking It, Hero in the movie. Seems Dracula lets Mavis go to a human village only to hire some zombies to scare her back so she'll realize how dangerous it is. These are the zombies that Jonathan comes across however that leads him straight to Drac's castle.
