I agree with this assessment, but I don't really know much about the series so I'll try to confirm before zapping.
Removed these from the page because none of them are sourced to provide evidence that it's more than just one person complaining, as per the Unfortunate Implications page. Feel free to add them back if citation is found
- Unfortunate Implications:
- Minene, being from the Middle East, is a Mad Bomber and wants to wage war for Religion-based reasons, which sound a little too close to the real-life Middle Eastern terrorists.
- The series basically takes Stalking is Love to its logical extreme.
Okay, should Minene be under Unfortunate Implications? Yes, she's from the Middle East, but it's never stated that she's of Middle Eastern descent, and her name would certainly suggest otherwise. She outright states that the Middle East was a foreign land to her, and she didn't speak the local language when she had to live off the streets. So yeah, on the surface it kind of comes off as "Middle Eastern terrorist bomber", but really, she's not even of that ethnicity.
EDIT: Between the shippers, both canon and non-canon, and those who just plain like this guy, it's a bit hard for me to believe that there aren't a sizeable number of fans who don't completely hate Yukiteru. In fact, from some of the comments on You Tube, it seems there are a few who can at least sympathize with him. Granted, as far as The Scrappy is concerned, he's likely the closest thing among fans of the show as any character can get to this trope (but really, how many people actually liked John Balks? Maybe they were just too 'meh' to hate him, but still...). Wouldn't he be a bit of a Base Breaker along with Yuno? Maybe not to the same degree, but still to a given extent, right?
