Values Dissonance:In the scene when John arrives at LAX and observes a lesbian couple embracing he remarks simply with one word: "California", possibly assuming that LGBT+ couples exist in California. Watching the scene might be taken differently today.

That looks a heck of a lot like a man to me. Is there something in the cast listing or Word of God that says it's supposed to be a lesbian couple?
