As the page quote mentions, he faced several fighters suspiciously absent from the supposedly unbeatable Rickson Gracie's record. To me, that's a text book case of Overshadowed by Awesome in my view. If unsure about the renamed page, I'd just not include it.
Previous injuries from pro wrestling/shoot fighting hampering his MMA career reads more like I Coulda Been a Contender! to me. If MMA as we knew it had existed before he spent his prime on the other sports, Takada probably would have done better at MMA, as Kazushi Sakuraba did.
Not sure if this falls under Dream-Crushing Handicap so putting it here for now.
- Overshadowed by Awesome/Sorry Billy, But You Just Don't Have Legs: Despite his losses in mixed martial arts, Takada is credited by Billy Robinson as being a fairly good striker in his UWF times and one of his most athletic trainees. However, he knew little grappling at a time in which it was the most important aspecto of MMA, he was weakened for many injuries, and above all, he lacked the adecuate mindset to face a fighting career, so his PRIDE tenure would be predictably disastrous. The fact that his opponents were the most dangerous in the world buried him definitely.
