Why was the title changed for releases of the film outside of England?
"AXEL ON STAAAAGE!" Hide / Show RepliesThe official reason is that the book isn't well-known outside of England. The REAL reason is that Americans aren't going to watch a movie which has "scientists" in its title and includes Charles Darwin as a main character.
Edited by Mort08 Looking for some stories? We're not gonna watch a movie because it has the word 'scientist' in the title? Really? I knew we were picky, I didn't know we were THAT picky. I would have still watched it.
"AXEL ON STAAAAGE!"It appears from the poster that there's an exclamation point at the end of the title as well as after "pirates". Perhaps someone should fix this.
Edited by Wackd Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. No! We shouldn't cut this, because the namespace is where animated films belong. I'm going to have to see how the custom title situation can be addressed, but cutting the page doesn't do it.
I now go by Graf von Tirol.
Could this movie be considered somewhat Ocean Punk? What we see of the pirates' world in the beginning seems to fit the description of it.
