So, I’ve been watching season 1 of this show, and when I got to episode 22, Guardians and Space Knights, two things struck me as odd.

1. The Avengers are coming back from saving a place called dimension Z, which I haven’t seen in any other episodes.

2. When the Avengers see Galactus, they act as if they’ve seen him before, even though he hasn’t been in past episodes either.

Am I missing something? The only episode in season 1 I haven’t watched was episode 13, The Deep, but I don’t think Galactus or Dimension Z were in that one either. Do I need to watch episodes of another show like Agents of S.M.A.S.H.?

I don’t think you missed anything. I think it was just set up. It’s not something that comes up later. As far as I’m aware things like this don’t really crossover between the series.

If the flashback and the mention of Fury's program is correct Avengers Assemble is in the same universe as The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Wolverine and the X-Men. Getting crowded don't you think?

Despite what others think, I don't think it's that difficult to fit into the Earth's Mightiest Heroes universe. We have the Avengers Mansion, mentions of the Avengers disbanding, it's a really a feeling on a continuation rather than a replacement.

Sure Falcon and the Heroes for Hire are a bit older, but I believe that mostly chalks up to the incredibly bulky character designs and weird face details that EMH had. I'm sure that wasn't (Yost's) the originally intent, but if they're really starting their own animated universe, I'm all for it.

Well, the show is certainly less silly than Ultimate Spiderman and Hulk: Agents of Smash.
