I see that someone has taken the task of writing Tropes for this particular series, I pray your mental health is as strong as most readers and myself. I will admit that I may have issues with the series like anyone else, I do have enough heart to respect the writer and his attempt.

Let's keep things simple and civil, yeah?

If you do not mind someone giving their two-cents and more if anyone is willing to put their foot in. The series is more of a genre deconstruction of Isekai, the after story of the typical journey and plotline, and the character archetypes found and commonly used in both light and web novels. I am pretty confidant that the writer has a good amount of knowledge regarding the tropes, given that they are deconstructing what is generally considered the most overly saturated stuff in both light novels, web novels, and adapted anime.

You can think of "The Warrior Returns" as something similar to "Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse" and "The Boys". The former is more or less a character study and analysis of media's most rebooted comic book hero which is Spiderman while the latter delves into Superheroes while using World War II as a central aspect of the setting. "The Warrior Returns" is complicated because it is grilling deep into a heavily saturated genre while using World War II as part of the setting.

Before I get off track, I do believe that Minsu Kim not only deconstructs the general light novel protagonist but also the generic doomsday villain. In most light novels and adaptations, the most commonly used antagonist most writers use is the Demon Lord or Demon King.

Minsu Kim slowly but surely devolves from someone with a motive to someone who aimlessly just goes around wrecking havoc on the world. Due to the machinations of the Return Hero/Warrior, Minsu Kim loses not just his humanity but his motives behind everything he does in the story - he just wants to bring pain to the world and nothing more.
