Colin is poor? I'd have to think that he's somewhat well off, being a middle manager. I'm sure he's somewhat strained financially by trying to having to pay rent and a mortgage (at two different price points), but he's still able to afford spending some cash here or there.

I thought that it was said that Colin was also struggling financially. I will have to look back through the comics a bit to see. Maybe I misremembered.
