Why remove it? IT WAS the intro at one point. That it's no longer currently the intro doesn't make it less an example.
Should we remove any work if the example doesn't happen every episode?
It can certainly be rewritten. That said, I was never all that sold on it to start with...a one-time gag that lasts for all of about 3 seconds seems like a stretch of the trope.
Actually, now that I've looked at the trope page, it cites Masterpiece Fanfic Theatre as an example rather than Anime Abandon: SoundtrackDissonance.Other Media
Edited by WillbyrI've added it back to the page with the info from the example on the trope's subpage.
Moving this example here, mainly because I'm not sure if it actually fits the trope; note that the trope page doesn't list Bennett as an example.
- Appeal to Worse Problems: Discussed with numerous protagonists and whether or not they are relateable or likable. For example he would look at someone like Shinji Ikari and say how he cries, he whines, he angsts, and never stops, and sure poor kid had a real crap life but he keeps going on about it even in light of THE END OF THE FUCKING WORLD!!! Then Bt S will say about someone like Vash the Stampede who cries, whines, angsts, then he picks himself up, dusts himself off, dons that red jacket and six shooter, boot knife, hidden gun arm and stop the bad guys because how bad his life had been does not define his entire character, what he does about it does.
Removed this example as Bennett is no longer with Channel Awesome. It could possibly be rewritten, but as is it doesn't count.
- World of Weirdness: As a Channel Awesome show, it automatically counts as being set in the Reviewaverse. And the Reviewaverse is weird.
I... did NOT know Bennett collaborated with Zone, on the Z-TV series.
Edited by Ninjaxenomorph Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged Men Hide / Show RepliesI know... It's just surprising to see the 'funny videos' part of my memory and the 'ogmz hentai' part colliding. Actually, out of all the TGWTG team members, Bennett is the one I would most expect to write the news show.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged Men
Moving this example here as it no longer fits with the show's current intro.
- Soundtrack Dissonance: "Ultra" by KMFDM, the opening song for Anime Abandon, set to images from various anime he's reviewed (usually incredibly violent or sexual scenes). It's fairly appropriate, given its harsh tone and extreme distortion...right up until Bennett cuts in to smile at the camera. This is an early hint for new viewers that Bennett may not be the most stable individual out there.
