Why, exactly, do we feel the need to have this separately from the rest of Homestar Runner?

Well, Jack of U, probably because it's a significant portion of a very large work. It's like when a folder gets too big for its britches and has to move to Canada to survive without getting beaten up. Much like Strong Sad. /SB

Does anybody know how Strong Bad email started? I've become obsessed with the series and Homestar Runner recently, so I am kinda curious if anyone here knows at all how and why the series came to be.
