I think Takayuki was just supposed to be kind of an apathetic character; and, as pointed out on this page, the doctors' responses to Haruka's coma clearly show that we're not talking about psychology majors here. I've never seen or heard anything to suggest that the whole "Takayuki has PTSD" thing is anything more than Fan Wank.
