Ambiguously Jewish?

I, for one, always assumed that the Shady Character was supposed to be a stereotypical comic relief Irishman - green eyes, accent and a fondness for alcohol. Perhaps it was just the hat... Still, I believe that applying this trope here seems a bit of a stretch, especially considering Moa Cube's statements on diversity. Thoughts?
