Having finished one (Classic Mode) playthrough and am currently in the middle of my second playthrough, one of many more, in Resistance Mode: I would like to point out that the Permadeath may have changed during development or simply didn't work like that at all. In the final game, losing your HP to gunfire kills you outright no questions asked, while you are Arrested or Injured if you are instead knocked down by melee or fall from a great height.

What's described under Final Death Mode simply does not exist in the final game. If it does, I've never seen it described online or in any Let's Plays and I never got this working.

Is there a specific trope for where an Ambiguous Situation established in one work is settled in a later work? Because it would apply here: in a side mission in Watch_Dogs 2 Marcus reveals that Wrench's name is Reggie, but it's left ambiguous if he's just messing with everyone, or if that's really Wrench's name. In the Bloodline DLC Wrench actively refers to himself as Reggie at one point, revealing that it really is his name.
