Given the recent official inclusion of the Threewave CTF mod into the Quake Remaster, in which folder would it be appropriate to list the tropes relevant to that game mode?
Intermission Hide / Show RepliesPerhaps its own folder, like it's been done with Quake II, where TWCTF is also an official release?
Agreed. I've seen that each Horde Mode map has at least one secret tied to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5FfhWvrQa8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzHj_NDFAXk
What would these fall under?
IntermissionFWIW I've added the curated mods to the Recap index. I may go through them just to trope them once I return home.
Good Call. Will be happy to list the levels in them in the main recap index.
Edit: Given that it is more a gameplay rebalance mod that is/can be applied to multiple different maps, should Copper be listed alongside UDOB, as a fanwork in its own separate page or not at all?
Edited by Enderguy059 IntermissionWe'll eventually have to trim the Ascended Fanon section in the Trivia page. That's why every addon should have its own page.
Edited by AM_NKThat's fair.
Will this mean that Ascended Fanon will be transplanted to its own page, or will the descriptions for the curated Add-ons listed in it be transplanted to their respective recap pages?
Also found the official Copper website, if that's of any use for making its own trope page (Recap, Fanwork or otherwise): http://lunaran.com/copper/
IntermissionIdeally the descriptions. Like all other Recap pages.
As for Copper, I'd rather talk about the official addon form in the Recap page for UO/C.
All good.
Keep in mind that as a rebalancing framework, Copper is bundled into multiple mods beyond UDOB, including The Punishment Due (another curated Add-On). It's the main crux behind my suggestion to divulge it from UDOB's Recap page.
IntermissionIs it just me or do the mission packs feel like they lack the atmosphere and dread of the original Quake? Almost all the Lovecraftian themes had been scooped out, the levels, especially in Do E, feel a lot less interesting than in the original, and the completely different soundtrack which lacks any of the eeriness or gloom of the original (which I saw was a feeling held by many according to the YMMV). Even the new enemies don't feel as fitting as the original Quake roster.
About the Funny Moments entry in YMMV, I've found the part in the Github Quake I code where the grenade and rocket death messages are written in present tense. https://github.com/id-Software/Quake/blob/master/qw-qc/client.qc I can't quote the code here due to formatting issues but the grenade message is in present tense ("tries to put the pin back in").
