I think this game should have its own character page for the roster separate from the previous ones. Since this is a hard reboot instead of a soft one, with much more radical changes than MK 9 or the MK 9 inspired adaptations (Scorpion being Lin Kuei, Shao Kahn not ruling outworld, young Raiden, etc), it'd be more appropriate and less confusing to have all the tropes applying to the new versions on their own page for this game. Liu Kang maybe as the sole exception.

Second this. The new timeline has made it clear that everything we previously thought before is different now, and with the exception of Fire God Liu Kang these new incarnations will likely have enough deviating traits to warrant their own page. This is basically like splitting off the movie versions of comic characters into their own pages.
We should wait until the actual story mode is released in a few weeks. Then take a decision.
So, it seems the Kombatants were born later in the New Era than in previous timelines to make them contemporary. Does the Setting Update trope apply to the story?

Is it possible for anyone to have any pages related specifically to the first Mortal Kombat game have the 1 in front of the visible title (the URL is fine)? It can get visually confusing quickly. For instance, the trivia page for the franchise as a whole and the trivia page for the first game both have the title "Trivia / Mortal Kombat" at the top.
