About the BattleMaster as it appeared in MechWarrior 2; did the game actually label it the "BattleMaster IIC"? Like, do we have screenshot evidence of it? Because I remembered it that way myself, but I can't find any source verifying it even as an apocryphal design. There was a BattleMaster IIC fanon design in the MekTek release of 4: Mercenaries, but other than that... I'm pretty sure the MW2 version was just an ordinary BattleMaster using Clan-spec weapons and equipment because that's all that particular game had. It and the Tarantula were the only Inner Sphere 'Mechs in the base versions of MW2. All the other 'Mechs were of course Clan designs, and even the Kell Hounds were using them, at least some of which were probably stand-ins for the IS versions of the 'Mechs where applicable.

I think the Executive Meddling entry on the Trivia page is a bit inaccurate, or, at least, unsourced. From what I remember, one of the MW:LL devs initially claimed it was a trademark/copyright issue involving various parties, but a later statement from another dev seemed to suggest/explain that WSS went their separate ways, and Russ of Piranha denied that they forced the MW:LL devs to C&D. With regards to MekTek, this post should explain a bit.

Is there any particular reason these are all lumped into one page? I would think they'd have enough info and examples to each have their own page. At the very least, the examples on this page should be organized based on individual game.

Plenty of work pages are about series, rather than pages for individual works. It's a matter of page size and personal preference of whoever makes the page. (I should know, I'm the one who made this page.)

Even if a page is about a series, though, it's not kosher to sort things by individual work. Alphabetical only, sorry.

That said, I think this page is being used to host some tropes not about actual games in the MechWarrior series. If you want to start pages for those works, that would cut down on the clutter nicely.

Collectively, each game doesn't have a whole lot of tropes; separating them would result in a ton of short pages. It's just that when each is on the same page that you get the enormous trope list.

It might be good to sort it from 0-F, G-L, M-R, and S-Z into individual folders.
