  • Reconstruction: Of the arcade-style action game, especially since the genre has become so dark. This game, while still acknowledging the flaws, still manages to keep its lighthearted tone while not forgetting the darker implications that these games bring up.
Can someone elaborate further on this example? I've gotten to chapter 24 at the least and nothing seems to hint at reconstructing the Rail Shooter or Third-Person Shooter genres.

So, anyway, which subpages of That One Level and That One Boss would we put entries for this game on? Third Person Shooter?

BOOM. Ah, frig, the fourth wall was broken AGAIN. Hide / Show Replies

I know I'm late, but it depends what section of the level was grievous. If it's both, Unsorted would be fine.

So I got a huge question about the YMMV question before I decide to touch it.

So we put Hades under the Complete Monster category. However, I think the only thing he has done is cross the Moral Event Horizon without being a Complete Monster. I mean, I think most of us would find it hard to believe that he's a Complete Monster because the things he does in the game can't rival what the Chaos Kin who is worse than Hades. Plus Viridi kills thousands of people but that isn't considered a Complete Monster or crossing the Moral Event Horizon.

These are the reasons he crossed the Moral Event Horizon.

1. He spread a lie about the fake wish seed making humans start a war. 2. He laughs at Pit being stuck in the ring. 3. The reason for starting the war was to collect as much souls to eat thus abusing his power as the Ruler of the Underworld.

The first and third one is considered an universe example of Moral Event Horizon, but would that really put a God into the Complete Monster category because in Greek mythology, none of the other Gods were saints either (Palutena is implied to do some messed up things in the past, Viridi kills thousands of people her first appearance, Poseidon sunk Atlanta (thus killing all the people in that area), and Pyrrhon backstabbed everyone for power to prove he was just as powerful (or more powerful) as the other Gods. What I'm trying to say is given the universe Kid Icarus is, I don't think that Hades would be considered a Complete Monster when you look at the track record of the other Gods and Goddesses in the game.

I'm just wondering if it's alright to remove Hades name from the list simply because I can't find the reasons put would put him in that category.

There's also the fact that Hades is considered to be the most sadistic character in the game. While the other Gods aren't perfect they certainly don't enjoy suffering as much as Hades does, and the Chaos Kin's destruction is more instinct than sadism. I'm not saying I totally disagree with you; I'm just suggesting another factor that might be worth considering.

"If someone asks you 'What is life?' it is like them asking 'What is a carrot?'; a carrot is a carrot, we know nothing more."

True but I would think you can't be that much of a sadist with a Freudian Excuse. It just seems like something is missing that I can't really pinpoint with Hade's characters. Not going Draco in Leather Pants or anything, I just have that feeling...I mean the Chaos Kin while being made of nothing but chaos the things it did was worse than what Hades could ever do even if it's by instinct. However, when the Chaos Kin possessed Palutena and said those hateful words to Pit, I felt like the Chaos Kin enjoyed that instead of it being instinct because it didn't have to say something like that.. Although I admit Hades is a huge sadist I would still think that the whole humans suffering thing would apply to Viridi too given that she set the bomb on humanity and laughed about it and yet she's Karma Houdini because she never apologized for it and implied that she would probably go back to hating humans now that Hades is gone.

So...is someone going to make a radar page for this entire series...since Uprising has a lot of mature themes that get past the radar and there are more to list than that...

You can always make it yourself, mang. Just make sure that they're actual examples of the trope.

Okie dokie, I just started the page for you guys. I've already copied and pasted the examples from the main page, but please feel free to edit as needed. I'm not an expert...

For future needs of making a Radar Page, just put in the series you want to add one in to this in the url:

Thank you so much. XD I thought people were ignoring me when I said the radar section is too big. I wonder if it applies to the huge Shout Out section too. O_O

You're very welcome! And yes, the format applies to Shout Out Pages too! Just replace "Radar" with "Shout-Out"!

So, has anyone created a shout out page yet? I think it deserves one, being on par with the number used in Neptunia. I didn't want to create one without anyone else's approval, so if anyone else thinks it's okay, create one.

As far as Large Ham is concerned, Thanatos and Hades hardly seem to qualify, while Pyrrhon is the ultimate personification of the trope. Everything he says and does reflects it, with lines about how the return address is justice and he just can't hear you over all his awesome. Neither of the other two have egos like that, they're more just Affably Evil

Can anyone confirm if these pieces of music are in the actual game? (I don't want to spoil the music by listening to it before actually getting a chance to play the game itself, so yeah...):

"Website music": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtC309DLwpU

"Trailer music": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_QynihNTAc

Also, can someone help clarify the trailers that are being referenced in the Memetic Mutation entry on this game's YMMV page? I've managed to properly locate and link the "Multiplayer trailer" in that entry... I think I've heard the "bark like a dog" line in the E3 2010 and E3 2011 trailers IIRC, but I can't pinpoint where the "RAGE QUIT!" line comes from...

Thanks in advance for the help!

"RAGE QUIT!" comes from the Thanatos Rising short. I'm not sure about the other trailers/references, though.

"Website Music" is the main Kid Icarus Uprising theme (which appears on the game menus), it's just a slightly different arrangement of it from the one that appears in the games. (Unless that arrangement is a track I haven't unlocked yet.)

"Trailer Music" is, except for the little bit of music that plays for the first and last 20 seconds of that video, definitely in the game as-is. It plays on the title screen/movie clip when you first open the game (before you bring up the menu).

How was my Crapsachirine World entry natter? I mean, yeah I mispelled it, but I think this game fits the whole "seemingly bright and idealistic world is a mask for a far darker image" description.

Just put it back on since I believe that is true. Then again I put Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism which seems to be enough along with Mood Whiplash.

Super Smash Bros. tropes go here? That's ridiculous. More similar to the artstyle or not, this is about one game. Anything related to SSBB should go on the series page.

I couldn't decide where to put them. I thought it was the Uprising Pit that was in SSBB, thus I kind of considered the Brawl Pit an Uprising spin-off, similar to how the Uprising anime clips go here. If they belong better to the main series page, then feel free to move them.

Shouldn't we put the Smash Bros. tropes on the Smash Bros. page? It seems the only reason they're here is because Pit is in Brawl, but we don't do that with Zelda or Metroid, so why here?

In reference to the Urban Legend of Zelda entry on this list: Offering hearts to Palutena and Viridi doesn't give you any reward (that is, items or powers). However, it DOES do something - after certain "checkpoints" it unlocks new dialogue with that particular character. The main rumor, though, it that it unlocks Palutena's Bow (which they incessantly call the Sacred Bow). How should we handle this?
