Also invoked in regards to Richter, the hitman who takes the PC's girlfriend out, and seemingly himself. After a turning point in the game, the Clerk is slain at every establishment the Hitman goes to, replaced by a strange bald man who wants him to leave - either politely, with passive-aggressiveness, or plain old grumpiness. When he shows up in person, he's more of a Faux Affably Evil Smug Snake. And even later, when the Hitman finds him in the police jail, he's genuinely apologetic and even knows that won't likely stop the Hitman from killing him.

Not sure how this fits the event being seen from different perspectives. Also, an Invoked Trope means that characters In-Universe set up the trope so it happens.

About the Hitman vs. Jacket terminology:

I started using "hitman" in the very early period, basically the same day that the game was released. But now "Jacket" is the semi-official name for the main character.

So wait, when we later control the biker and kill the hitman wearing the Rooster mask from Prank Call, does that mean that the game from the second boss (Neighbors) to the wheelchair execution a dying dream of the hitman?

Well it is a game made by Cactus... and he is known for making games that are usually open ended in a Mind Screw kind of way.

If you want my opinion, I think both survived, they just "killed" each other in their own mind.

We're all equal, but differ in thought and logic.
