"Did Not Do The Research": The whole NC Os never being addressed as sir isn't exactly accurate. In the Air Force, this is perfectly acceptable, plus Mantel's military doesn't exactly have to follow the customs of the actual military.

"You Fail Biology Forever: Weaponised withdrawal symptoms?"

can we flesh this out? what was the withdrawal symptoms and why are they a bio fail in this context?

There's an in-game effect for Nectar withdrawl that happens several times during the Mantel section of the campaign, since your injector's been turned down. As a late-game gimmick when you're a Rebel, Mantel specops have "withdrawal grenades" that cause the same screen effect. It's a lazy recycling of an effect that doesn't make a lick of sense, you can't give someone withdrawal symptoms of a drug they're not using.

@Evilest Tim: Don't revert the rewrite, do you want this to suffer the same fate as the Sonichu and Seltzer And Friedberg pages?

Why? The rewrite doesn't reflect what's in the game and removed a stack of tropes for no reason at all (Crapsack World was true in the trailer but not the game, Creator Killer is just straight-up true, Nectar is handwaved, you are supposed to turn a reflex sight on, the plot does have Unfortunate Implications, etc), and seems to be aiming for that mythical Wikipedia "neutrality" where articles can't have any fun with what they're about at all. The A.K.A.-47 entry which replaced Doesn't Like Guns seems to have been made up on the spot.

I'm trying to gear down the snark a little, but just amputating everything snarky makes the page dull. Like the staggeringly boring Seltzer And Friedberg page, in fact. Sonichu is just as negative in general as this page, which makes sense given the reception of Sonichu is just as negative as Haze's was. Regardless, I am working on toning things down a little.

I didn't chek the rewrite in-depth and so I agree those removals are lame and inexplicable. But the "There's not such thing as too much snark" bit made me doubt a bit. Your rewrite is certainly better than the other one.

And yes, I agree snark makes the page fun. Problem is, the admins don't.

I don't know, it's not anything like as negative as it was, and there seems to be some argument against outright neutering pages even there. Current version is fine, I'd say.

There are some things I'd quibble with—for instance, some of the stuff described under Plot Hole should probably go under It Just Bugs Me! rather than on the main page. That said, I'm kinda sick of getting into edit wars over these things, so I'm not going to make any more changes for now.

Yeah, but it doesn't just bug me, it's a plot hole because the game provides no information with which to resolve it. Particularly what Mantel is actually doing with Nectar that merits them trying to annex an entire country; from what we see, the drug itself is virtually useless. I'd guess in the original draft they were using it to keep people in more stable areas unaware of their Crapsack World, a bit like in Brave New World (or Syndicate Wars), but as-is they're very much doing it For the Evulz.

Is it unwise to say that this article is a bit one-sided in its hatred? I mean, I'm sure there are quite a few people who found this game fairly enjoyable, and I think this article should be edited to reflect that.

No. There are "quite a few people" out there who find Uwe Boll movies "fairly enjoyable" too, there's a guy on Youtube who thinks Bubsy 3D is awesome, and so on. Haze pulled a Daikatana and destroyed its own developer. This is generally evidence enough that a game is, on an objective level, bad. Haze is another Sonic 2006; it was rushed together in a hurry, is barely complete, and was startlingly overhyped to boot.

So what does that make Too Human then? A game that too destroyed the reputation of Denis Dyack and the rest of Silicon Knights?

Oh, and the developer has been revived as Crytek UK, hopefully making it so that they won't make the same mistake ever again.
