Anachronism? During training, the sound clip played when leveling up will be formed, as usual, from the generic brass accent followed by a specific sound. For charisma or endurance sound clips the specific sound will be some very recognizable overdrive electric guitar riff. Since it is established in the lore that Rock'n'roll didn't evolve in the Fallout universe, chances are that electric guitar was used only as a clean instrument since '50s real-life engineers typically considered that distortion is something to be avoided at all costs. So basically the music of the Fallout universe should be free of distorted guitar sounds. Am I right?

Changed Dump Stat from

  • Dump Stat: Averted. Unlike most of the other Fallout games, there is no dump stat. Charisma in the other games, tends to be rather worthless as it usually just gives a few extra points to your Barter skill and a slight bonus to having a positive outcome in a conversation - something that you can usually just throw a few more skill points at (though some games have Charisma determine your party size). However in Fallout Shelter, Charisma influences how quickly your dwellers will reproduce with each other when put in the living quarters and how often new dwellers come to your Vault when you have a radio station built.

  • Dump Stat: Like other Fallout games, Charisma. However in Fallout Shelter, Charisma only influences how quickly your dwellers will reproduce with each other when put in the living quarters and how often new dwellers come to your Vault when you have a radio station built. This is completely worthless if you've already gotten a full vault, and even if you haven't, Dwellers with low charisma will still reproduce quite quickly.

Because... well... it's considerably less useful than any other stat. Like my writeup says, it's totally useless if you have a full vault, and it's not that useful even if you don't, as Dwellers reproduce very quickly anyway.

You posted this before I was going to make my edit that shows that it isn't completely worthless.

Charisma influences your chances of non-violent encounters in the wastelands. The fugitive slave on the run, the friendly ghoul, the sheriff, etc.

ALL of the stats have their uses in the Wasteland... though I haven't figured out exactly how Intelligence helps out yet.

Still seems pretty worthless... but it's something, at least.

Even so, I'd say it's a dump stat. Shaving off two minutes to make a Dweller pregnant faster doesn't seem like much, considering it'll take six hours before that baby is a useful Dweller.

Is finding people in the wasteland actually good, though? In my experience, it winds up giving less XP than an enemy. Which seems counter-productive.

It sometimes rewards caps or gear.

Yeah... I'm going to readd it. It's still a Dump Stat even if it's Not Completely Useless, it's still less useful than any other stat.

  • Dump Stat: Charisma. While Not Completely Useless, every other stat in the game is either useful in any room in the Vault (like Luck or Endurance) or helps speed up production. In the Vault, all that Charisma does is shorten the (already short) time it takes two Dwellers to have a baby, and help broadcast from the Radio Tower to get new Dwellers from the Wasteland. Naturally, if an Overseer already has a full Vault, both of these bonuses are useless at best (the Radio Tower is actually detrimental, since it attracts Deathclaws). In the Wasteland it does have a purpose, but so does every other stat, except they're also useful in the Vault.
