Misaimed "Realism" is supposed to be a feature that makes a game more realistic, but ends up encouraging unrealistic behavior instead. The examples on the page seem to be "this feature makes the game more realistic, but also more tedious or with minor oversights that were fixed later", so I'm in favor of removing them.
Edited by SomeonemanThe bionics, filthy clothing, and nutrition examples could likely be retained if reworded to focus on the actual technical problems they had in the past, as they did contain actual realism issues on first implementation independent of playerbase reaction, but all of those have since been fixed (CBMs now require proper anesthetics rather than unrealistically messing with analgesics and hoping not to OD, washing clothes have been heavily rebalanced and allow things like washing machines and detergent, vitamin deficiencies no longer accumulate acutely and most food has realistic nutrient content).
That just leaves ranged accuracy and treecutting, which were a bug and an oversight respectively, and the "crafting in darkness" thing which was a "realism in context" example given the "feature only became problematic due to lack of related realism" thing, but otherwise likely not worth retaining.
Edited by valos- World Map: A map of the local region can be accessed at any time, conveniently for players who are trying to find a specific type of building to loot.
World Map is a disambiguation. Please pick one of the tropes listed on it and return the example.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThese entries need to be expanded according to How To Write An Example:
- Abandoned Laboratory
- Absurdly Spacious Sewer
- Everything Breaks
- Giant Spider
- The Many Deaths of You
- Nintendo Hard
- No Zombie Cannibals
- Point Build System
- The Undead
There, fixed that up for you. I apologize for being underdetailed, and I hope those entries look better now!
Sorry with the noise Re: Misaimed "Realism", I misunderstood the guidelines to indicate that YMMV was based on the details of the examples instead of the trope being used. Still, the examples do seem to be invalid because they're based on fan reaction rather than the contents of the game, any objections to removing the trope?
