Indians/Chinese/Russians seem to be gearing up for a return to the Moon within the 2025/2040 timeframe, making a SECOND race to the moon a rather more exciting media event then the first Mars Direct modules being launched by then- at least, one can hope.
(Too sleep-deprived to link to the Other Wiki right now, but if you look at the Wikipedia pages for the Chinese space program and the Indian space program, it's there as a bit of a footnote.)
