Why was the following removed?
"fifth President to lose the popular vote and by the largest margin in absolute numbers and the second largest in percentages" (about Trump)
I think it is rather important to point out that Trump lost the popular vote - which is a verifiable fact. What's the argument of the other side?
Hide / Show RepliesPopular Vote defeats are mentioned for earlier presidents so I agree this should be mentioned.
This part is consistent with the page and should be mentioned in neutral language since these are verifiable facts.
...or alternatively we remove all earlier mentions and simply remove the issue of Popular Vote from the page. I am okay with that, at least in terms of maintaining consistency.
Well I think the popular vote defeats should be mentioned in all cases (except perhaps in the case where the House decided, but even there it might be mentioned) and yes, consistency should be maintained as well as neutrality and sticking to verifiable facts.
The election results are, after all, matters of public record
Age
Okay, how old was Reagan upon leaving office?
Because the article says he was 73 while someone reverting me on the possibility of Trump surpassing him claims he was 73 at the beginning of his second term and left office at 77.
What's right here?
Hide / Show Replies... what? That was a good revert... that bit was nonsensical. I genuinely can't figure out what it was trying to say.

The article currently says that Trump was the oldest President to ever get elected. On that much we are all in agreement.
What I was trying to say (and on that I went with the "Reagan left office aged 73") is that Trump will surpass age 73 during his first term unless he dies/resigns/is impeached/otherwise removed from office before that.
Now it would of course be unnecessary what would happen in a hypothetical second Trump term (i.e. if Reagan left office aged 77), until and unless he gets elected to it.
But if Reagan left office aged 73 and Trump could surpass that age during his first term, I think it's okay to mention.
Maybe in a different wording, but I hope you catch my drift now.
Okay, I just now looked it up on WP; Reagan left office aged 77, so Trump could only surpass that age in a hypothetical second term.
No need to mention that then, unless Trump really does win a second term.
Should this page be named The Presidents of the United States to be more specific?
