The bolded section is the part I just excised, because the peaceful political affiliations of the victims of state violence don't excuse Pinochet's atrocities, and I think I was correct in deleting this parenthetical justification as being contrary to the mission of the wiki and the views, by-and-large, of its userbase. I'm offering up this edit for discussion so that we're all on the up-and-up.
