I’m beginning to think that this subpage needs a serious cleaning up.

The examples about Serena and Iris are just fans complaining about their poorly written portrayals, not complaining about how they were supposed to be seen as "sympathetic." I thought this trope was supposed to be seen as characters that were supposed to be sympathetic in some scenes, not about characters being poorly written when it comes to their traits.

I’ve watched both seasons of these respective poke girls and I don’t think you were supposed to sympathize and side with Iris when she calls Ash a kid nor were you supposed to sympathize with Serena when it comes to her issues with her mother (especially since Serena has been nothing but respectful towards her mother).

Iris and Serena are not portrayed as Woobies in these aspects. Last time I checked, this trope is about characters that are supposed to be portrayed as pitiable woobies, but it's the opposite.

It's a potential edit war that is happening over the Iris entry. I had posted a query on Ask the Tropers, but people have yet to respond. So I will post here to continue the discussion.

The reason why I edited the first one? It came off as complaining and character bashing, which isn't allowed on this wiki. Since this trope is a fan reaction trope, it's best that entries should be posted without any sense of bias, complaining and character bashing.

I apologize if it came off that way. It do wonder if it would be acceptable to add “Even after learning of Ash’s past accomplishments Iris continues to act like her experience outweighs Ash despite them being on par”

About Carmine and Kieran being unintentionally unsympathetic, don’t you guys think we should wait until Indigo Disk comes out?

Agreed.

Kieran seemed as if he was falling into full-on vengefulness by the end thus supposed to be wrong. If nothing comes of it he might be UU, but that should wait.

So, we have Lusamine listed because of her actions in Pokémon Sun and Moon hence why she was toned down in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Pokémon The Series Sun and Moon and Pokémon Adventures. Yet, the First Installment Wins page says that fans prefer the abusive, controlling Lusamine from the original Sun and Moon and the [[Fandom-Specific Plot/Pokemon Fandom Specific Plot for Pokémon]] says that one of these is reversing Lusamine's Adaptational Heroism and presenting her with the personality from the games. Can someone please help explain this to me?

1. This is YMMV and some fans prefer Lusamine's toned-down personality (which is why she's a Base-Breaking Character). 2. There is quite a bit of material in Sun and Moon that is supposed to make Lusamine sympathetic, but the fans don't believe that this material brings her anywhere close to being sympathetic. Fans can prefer the abusive her and still think she's unsympathetic.
