J K Rowling has given us 'Word of God' far more enthusiastically than most creators. Indeed, she seems to be using her power as the creator for all it's worth, even going so far as to say that she prefers the harry/hermione ship over ginny. I don't have any particular shipping preferences, but it seems to me that when the creator is deliberately contradicting their own canon... I say canon rules supreme, and I'm ignoring JK.
