The second paradox isn't explained that well. There's also no transition of thought between many of its sentences, resulting in further befuddling...
At first, it seemed like the second paradox was saying "Limiting yourself to only things that haven't been done is limiting yourself just as limiting yourself to only things that have been done is limiting yourself," but then it goes down another road - a road that sounds a little too much like "Fan fiction is the way to go for aspiring writers" (which is terrible advice: as soon as you start taking your writing seriously, you should stop writing fan fiction). Then, it closes with a sentence that makes sense (about how the creative brain can't start creating until more rigid guidelines have been set up), but that doesn't appear to have anything to do with the second paradox's vague/convoluted opening sentence (the opening sentence is supposed to be a thesis statement of what follows)...
I'd like to fix it, but as it is, I'm not even sure what the troper was trying to say with that portion of it.
Question that maybe can be addressed in the article. If nothing's original and everything's always Follow the Leader, what's the issue with Serial Numbers Filed Off creations?
