The typewriters aren't a shout-out at all. A Shout-Out is calling out to something—generally—outside of the continuity of the work in question.

That's a fair statement. Then what about Ada throwing the rocket launcher to Leon at the end of the game? She did the same thing at the end of one scenario in Resident Evil 2. It's not a common occurrence in the games. Callback?

Yeah, Call-Back for that sort of thing. I went in already and removed a bunch of things that were like that, or which just seemed like coincidences or common tropes in themselves.

@Mr Death I just read this page and I've felt like there's still a lot of simple unintended coincidences here.
I'm adding a lot of references, callbacks, homages, etc that could be considered Shout Outs. They don't occur in every game, or they'd be a Franchise Staple. Plus, it's easier to reassign these to the Trivia page once they're actually listed on the site.
I'm torn about adding the Save Typewriters to the Shout Outs. They were a franchise staple for a number of the games, but this is probably their last hurrah in the series. Note that ink ribbons are no longer necessary.
