The message-arrow from Herne to Robin, in S 1 E 6 "The King's Fool", refers to King Richard Lionheart as devil-spawn. That's NOT an arbitrary insult: There was a persistent rumour, in Richard's time, that there was demonic blood in his pedigree. It's referred to both in the Ars Magica RPG ("Ordo Nobilis") and in a novel by Judith Tarr ("Isle of Glass"). Does that qualify as Genius Bonus? (Also I'm wondering if the message on the arrow was meant to be written in ogham?)
