I think you got it in your last sentence there. Values Dissonance hit the standard mid-aughts protagonists/writers hard.

As of the final episode of season 7, Anthony Michael Hall has guest starred on this show. This must be a Celebrity Paradox, because there's no way they haven't mentioned The Breakfast Club by now, right? Somebody help me out here.

They have mentioned The Breakfast Club in Murder? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? and thus it is a Celebrity Paradox.

Awesome, thanks. I suppose I could have done a little Googling work myself, but whatever, I was too lazy to.
Adding it now.
Serious question: is the Psych duo homophobic? I just rewatched the football episode, where they infiltrate the Santa Barbara pro football team. Shawn "psychically" deduces that two of the players are gay, and the coach makes a comment about it too. Gus won't massage the football players despite that being his undercover job.
This isn't the first time Shawn has made comments about random dudes' orientations. It's just weird because that seems like something that wouldn't bug Shawn at all, with how worldly and quirky he is. Gus? Sure, because his aversions are much more childlike and all due to his insecurities as a human being. I know neither of them are hateful, it's just these weird mid-2000s comedy bits don't play well anymore.
